a little convo.

We had our driveway torn out (and it has yet to be replaced, and we have almost gotten divorced), but the kids loved watching the process (of the driveway being torn out, not of our divorce proceedings).
They stood like this most of day.
And one conversation I overheard went a little something like this....
Hadley:  "Cars, that's a digger.  Can you say digger?  DDDD-igger.  Sound it out buddy.  I can teach you, but you gotta try."
Carson:  Drool.
H:  "If you want to drive a digger when you grow up you can.  I am going to be a nurse and a firefighter when I grow up.  I will be a nurse Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and a firefighter Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday.  So you are going to have to find someone to watch the babies.  Because I will be busy.  And I won't be able to make your lunch either."
C:  More drool.
Me:  "You and Carsie are going to have babies together?"
H:  "Yep.  Because that's what you do when you get married."
Me:  "You're marrying Carson?"
H:  "Yes.  That's what we do in this family.  We marry our brothers.  And he better mow the lawn."
That's what this family is all about.
A bunch of lawn mowing Brother-Dads.

Fred and Irene the Next Generation. It's true, that's what we do in this family!

jesus, they ARE Fred and Irene, the next generation... Scary. :)

i love the well thought-out plan for her jobs, and that she is taking Fridays off. Good call Hads - cuz a girl's definitely gonna need to get her drink on with a schedule like that (and a hubby who's also her bro)... (And babies who are most likely deformed/mentally retarded...)

Love that she tells him to sound it out. And that she can't make his lunch. How thoughtful of her;)

Don't worry, Henry thinks he's going to mary Lucy too. I think we're both letting them watch too much TLC.

Clearly, she's also going to be a peach pathologist with sounding out skills like that. she needs to add more days to her week. And at least she knows (OK we know) what her future looks like...Cara and Tony.

that's marry not mary...and their mother can't spell either.

Ok, nutty convo aside, I love this photo. There is something so sweet about the obvious age difference (read: size difference) and yet they are both so interested in the same thing. And Carsie stretching to see out the window is precious.
Niamh and Finn are also getting married. its funny, I never thought of marrying either of my sisters, but I did consider marrying my dog.

Such a cute picture. And I totally know your remodeling pain. Amazingly kip and I only got into one divorce worthy fight during our remodel, over the color of the roof, and then totally died laughing when it was put on. You can't see it!! Hope they get you repaved soon. I'm sure the dust, noise, and inconvenience is getting OLD.

What's up with kids these days and incest?

who needs a driveway anyways, leave it as a hole out front and let the kids play in it.

by the way that was supposed to be speech not peach...of course with our family's obsession with peaches, maybe that was meant to be.

I was laughing so hard I was crying when I read this! I can totally hear this conversation in my head and I can see Carson with his cute look. SO so funny!

actually Hads would say "peach" instead of "speech" wouldn't she?

and PSS could you send a lawn-mowing brother-dad over to my house? BC all we have here is a lawn-mowing mom with weak muscles.

Seriously. Anytime I leave a comment it's because I laughed out loud. And I know everyone says "lol" (which I think is lame), but I don't lol very often when I'm reading things. TV, sure, but reading things, no. Anyway, you crack me up. "A bunch of lawn mowing Brother-Dads." Awesome. And good luck with that divorce, ha. Kidding. Hopefully your driveway is put back together soon. :)
