easter.

For us, Easter, has to do with toy filled baskets, and egg hunts, and candy, and lots of food, and seventy degree weather, and more candy, and family, and men dressed as giant bunnies that scare the sh*t out of kids.
Unfortunately, there are only two kids left that still get scared.
Luckily, one of them is my six year old...who looks twelve.
It's awkward.
And ridiculous.
I am quite certain Hadley would much rather we started the whole church tradition.

From the back:
(that's what she said)
{Gus, Maddie, Allie, Abby, Eli, Hads, Tate, Blakelynn, Benny, Lauren, Carson, Hope, & Logan}

A tad confused.
Per usual.

a whole lotta talk.

So she says to me, out of the blue, the other day:
"Mama, how come you pay WAY more attention to Carson than you do to me?"
Me:  "Because Carson is constantly trying to do things that will kill him."
Her:  "Well, maybe it's time he learns a lesson."
And then she laughs.
I like her.
But I think someone would be pretty sad to lose her partner in crime.
Even when he's busy commiting a crime.

what the...?

It snowed.
On March 22nd.
Hadley was jazzed...and slightly annoyed.
"Umm, Mama, doesn't anyone know that Wednesday was the first day of spring?  Who's in charge of this planet anyway?  Because they don't have a very good memory."

st. pats day.

An entire day that revolves around drinking beer?!
That is our kind of day.
The best kind of day.
St. Patrick...
you are my second most favorite saint to celebrate.
Only to be outdone by St. Nicholas.
His celebration includes an entire day of drinking beer AND opening presents.
It's a tough act to follow.
