halloween 2013.

We started the day with a scavenger hunt, candy, and a lot of excitement.
Next up, a little party in Hadley's classroom.
I got to be in charge of the Fall Bingo Station.
It was intense.
No seriously.
A nail biter.
Finally it was time for the big show.
With the cousins.
We've been doing it for five years straight now.
We've got it down.
And it just gets better...and better...and better.
This year all we heard was Carsie chasing after the big kids screaming...
"WAIT UP GUYS!  I AM COMING GUYS!  WAIT FOR ME GUYS!".
Then we got home.
Counted our loot.
Lined up our candy.
(god bless them).
And ate it all.
Until we puked.
Happy Hallows.

That's a wrap.
Now lets unwrap.
And eat.

a little halloween party.

I decided I wanted to have a little Halloween party.
A very last minute, very random, very 'are you free tonight' Halloween party.
I had spider cupcake molds I needed to use.
Cupcakes molds that I bought 3 years ago at Crate & Barrel...and had yet to use.
They were $4 bucks a piece.
They couldn't go to waste.
So it just made sense.
And we had fun...A lot of fun.
Fun that lasted until 2AM.
And it was no fun when the babes woke up at 6AM.
That just didn't make sense.
And not much made sense the rest of the day.
But it was worth it.

football, pumpkins, & tequila. oh my.

They all go together right?

pumpkin patch take one.

The pumpkin patch.
One of those things I know I am supposed to love.
But I don't.
(I've come to learn I don't really like anything...it's part of my charm).
Trust me, in theory, I think it's a grand idea.
The hot cocoa, the perfectly round, perfectly orange pumpkins, the fall leaves, and all of the tom foolery that comes along with it.
Perhaps a corn maze, perhaps a scarecrow, perhaps a duck race.
Perhaps a Winter ale?
Perhaps cold weather, and whiny kids, and a muddy car.
Wait.  Nope.  That's a for sure.
But I go.
Because I want my kids to remember that...
"I took you to the pumpkin patch dammit and you loved it!"
Which means I must love you.
A LOT.
Because I would much rather stay home, and clean the house, and put you down for naps, and watch Real Housewives while you sleep...in my clean house...with candles burning...
and pumpkins fresh from the grocery store.

pumpkin path take two.

...and then we did it again.
I'm looking for a few mulligans to make up for all the times I yell at you kids.
And for the times I may or may not shove you in the back when you're walking away.
Happy Patching.
So there.
We're even.
