birthday pre-funk.

The night before Carson's birthday Nana & Pa wanted to take him out to dinner to celebrate.
We were all pumped to go (Ryan was out of town all week, the kids were sick all week, so a night at Red Robin sounded absolutely dreamy...just being out of the house sounded absolutely dreamy...actually tall cold beers, bottomless fries, and adult company sounded  absolutely dreamy).
And then Hads got sick...again.
So we stayed home, and Carsie got Nana and Pa, Lauren and Ben, and Uncle Kevin all too himself.
And presents.
And ice cream.
And I don't think he ever stopped smiling.

We're dog-earring the hell out of our Sunday Ads.

They must know Santa gets here soon.

almost three.

I forgot how much I dislike three year olds.
But he continues to do a good job to remind me.

style.

Hads got ready for school the other day, all by herself...and then came down in this get-up.
I asked her, "Is it 'wear your craziest outfit' day at school?"
She replied, "No.  Why?  Do you think the belt looks dorky?".
Me, "No.  I think what's under the belt looks dorky."
Her, "So my sweater looks dorky?".
This girl really needs to learn when she's being insulted.

halloween 2013.

We started the day with a scavenger hunt, candy, and a lot of excitement.
Next up, a little party in Hadley's classroom.
I got to be in charge of the Fall Bingo Station.
It was intense.
No seriously.
A nail biter.
Finally it was time for the big show.
With the cousins.
We've been doing it for five years straight now.
We've got it down.
And it just gets better...and better...and better.
This year all we heard was Carsie chasing after the big kids screaming...
"WAIT UP GUYS!  I AM COMING GUYS!  WAIT FOR ME GUYS!".
Then we got home.
Counted our loot.
Lined up our candy.
(god bless them).
And ate it all.
Until we puked.
Happy Hallows.

That's a wrap.
Now lets unwrap.
And eat.

a little halloween party.

I decided I wanted to have a little Halloween party.
A very last minute, very random, very 'are you free tonight' Halloween party.
I had spider cupcake molds I needed to use.
Cupcakes molds that I bought 3 years ago at Crate & Barrel...and had yet to use.
They were $4 bucks a piece.
They couldn't go to waste.
So it just made sense.
And we had fun...A lot of fun.
Fun that lasted until 2AM.
And it was no fun when the babes woke up at 6AM.
That just didn't make sense.
And not much made sense the rest of the day.
But it was worth it.
