Dear Carson,
I sure wish you would have come with a 'How-To' manual. I am SO not used to having a boy. You boys are crazy! Non stop from the time you wake up until the time you go to bed. YOU. NEVER. QUIT. You hit (hard), you run (fast), you throw things (with amazing accuracy), you have full blown tantrums (multiple times a day), you are constantly in movement (even in your sleep). I get exhausted just watching you. And when I am not watching you...well, I pay for it. You have almost fallen from our second floor, you have cut your lip with scissors, you have put a plastic bag over your head, you have wrapped blind cords around your neck, you have stuck a (plastic) fork in the light socket, you been found in the middle of the street more than once, you have fallen into a pool, you have written on the walls, you have thrown the computer, the camera (you call it a 'cheese'), the stools, and pushed over the TV. You constantly climb on the counter, you jump on the beds, you dump out your toys with zest. You love nothing more to break stuff, to wreck stuff, and to make a mess with stuff. You are a real pain in the ass kid.
But, oh my God, are you cute. Like ridiculously, retardedly cute. And you are actually quite sweet (when you're not being a total jerk). You give the best 'ooh-aahs', you love to snuggle at bedtime (rock-a-baby), and you adore your sister. I don't even think you know her name is Hadley...you only call her 'Sissy' (dissy). You always say 'please' and 'thank you' (choo-choo), you blow kisses like nobody's business, and you yell 'HI' to everyone that walks by...followed up with THE biggest smile. Your vocabulary is killing me. I swear you learn 100 words a day. Such a little mimic. My newest, most favorite thing about you right now is when you say 'Watch Mama Watch!' Then you do some jump, or spin turn, or hit your head against the wall, or something equally unimpressive...and then you say 'See that? See that?'. It makes me grin ear to ear...every single time.
Right now you LOVE cars and trucks and airplanes and choo-choo's and diggers. There is not a car we pass during the day that you don't comment on. You are still a great eater. You will try anything. You drink milk like a champ. You take your shoes and socks off every f*ing time we get in the car. You are still a great napper. A terrible sleeper 'inner' (usually up around 5:30am...this makes me hate you a little). Still wearing dipes, but getting quite interested in the potty...I wish I had more of an interest. You know all your animal sounds, you're starting to count, and you're learning your colors. You can keep up with the big kids. You are quite hilarious and will do anything for a laugh. You always want your 'owies' kissed. You love books. You love Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with a passion. Every single morning you come into our room and say 'Watch Mick Mouse?'. You love dogs. You really love Frank. You love to jump off the coffee table. And you do it ad nauseum. When you go to bed at night you say goodnight to everything. 'Nigh-night trucks. Nigh-night lamp. Nigh-night pictures'...and on and on. It's my very, very favorite.
You're pretty special little man. And you make everyone around you feel pretty special too. Your enthusiasm and exuberance for life is contagious. I wish I could bottle up of all your energy and take a shot for myself. Instead, you make me feel the need to take a shot of something else. You are exhausting. You are opinionated. You are darling. You are easily distracted. You are funny. You are happy. You are fearless. You are growing. Way too fast. You are smart. You are crazy coordinated. You are active. You are a pain. You are engaging. You are a 'day-maker'. You are trouble. You are people's favorite. You are lovely. You are my baby.
And always will be.
And always will be.
You are my world.
And always will be.
xoxo
Your, dark circle under her eyes having, Mama.

he could NOT be anymore different than hadley... that is what kills me. he is all of the things you said, and man, does he love you... like really adores you. i love that. he is so seriously a beautiful busy little boy. i love that we have boys that wrestle (well, luke tackles and carson hits) but when they roll together and squabble on the floor- it looks so cute. love your letters. will you write me one? and mail it to me? that would be so fun. xo
And now you know why I cried when they told me this one was a boy. I'm still holding out hope for all the fools that tell me boys are so much easier than girls when they're older. please be true to make up for this crazy time.
he is absolute perfection- no secret that his auntie Val thinks he's the best thing ever!
he is all of those things, which will only intensify as he gets older. Hang on mama, he will be worth the ride. His ever lovin' Zaide.
This post could be written about G$. With their powers combined they could destroy the world one smile and HIIiiiiiii at a time.
