lolapalooza.

Our Mimi.
We celebrated her big.
(that's what she said).
Over three days, in fact.
And we called it 'Lolapalooza'.
Because her name is Lois...and this was a 'palooza'.
(and it sounds Italian).
And she would have LOVED a three day event where her favorite people got together, and ate, and laughed, and drank, and drank, and drank in her memory.
(Grappa anyone?).
And she would have loved even more that it was loud, and disorganized, and full of chaos.
And she would have hated all of the little kids that attended.
That's our Meems.
Sometimes impossible to like her.
Completely impossible not to love her.
Entirely impossible not to miss her.

Day #1
...after the Catholic Mass.
Stand up.  Sit down.  Stand up.  Sit down.
Our quads were screaming.
And the next day...so were our livers.
Damn you, Fireball.

Day #2.
She would have hated every little kid in attendance.
They were loud, and obnoxious, and running over all of the graves.
It was great.
Her nine kids.
Judy, Ray, Sue, Joe, Laurie, Marybeth (B-Z), Lisa, Jamie, Jon.
Not in that order in the photo...and maybe not even in that order in real life.
It's too late to call anyone.

Mimi was an only child.
These are ALL of her children...and all of her children's children.
(minus Pete, Angela, Rob, Beth, Annie, Amy & Sam).
And all of her children's, children's children.
(minus Angela's four kiddos and two fetus').
Kind of awesome.
That's one teeny tiny woman responsible for 34 offspring.
And here's all the kids, and the kids kids, and the kids kids kids...and the riff raff.
(meaning the baby daddy's and baby mama's that are, fortunately for them, only related by marriage).
And three fairy princesses'.
And one darling boy.
(perhaps I am bias).

And day #3.
We celebrated with a big feast, a lot of libations, a beautiful view of Seattle, where Tom and Lenny sang their hearts out, and where we remembered one of the most amazing, extremely fancy, awe inspiring, strong, hilarious, snide, crude, fun loving, women any of us will ever have the pleasure to know.
And more importantly the pleasure to love.
(and with the Seahawks game in the background...which she would have hated).

That's Amore.
Mimi, we love you.
A lot.
And we miss you.
Even more.

a shitty reason to get the whole gang together... but such a fun weekend, full of laughs and drinks. Perfect way to celebrate our gal.

and yes, she was hard to like, impossible not to love, and so so missed.

She would have been so happy to be the center of attention for a whole weekend. A perfect send off for our fabulous Meems. And yeah, the little kids would have driven her crazy.
