gingerbread in da hood.

Ry and miss Jane made g.bread houses the other day and both were totally stoked. You see, these two are the biggest candy freaks I know so the actual picking out and buying of the candy is WAY more exciting than constructing the houses. And let me tell you, these poor little houses were the saddest, most dilapidated, residences you ever did see. The only thing missing was a mugger and a drug dealer on the corner. Maybe next year.

free at last.

Met up with two best girlyfriends for dinner the other night. One has a 3 month old, the other has a 5 month old...you can imagine what we talked about, you can imagine what we bitched about, and you can only imagine how hip and fancy we felt being out on the town. Until both of their boobs started leaking, and then we all felt like gross, unkempt, moms again. But it was fun while it lasted!

nose against the wall.

This is pretty much how I spent my entire growing up, with my 'nose against the wall.' See my mom was WAY ahead of her times and invented her own little way of giving a time-out...much to my brother and my chagrin. We were often spotted at family functions, just like this, while our aunts and uncles giggled at the fact that this actually worked and that kids would actually stand in a corner with their little noses flush to the wall...and it still works. And now it's payback time. Oh man, it is so fun being a mom, especially for moments like this.

*this particular 'nose against the wall' was after she threw her dinner off the dinner table...she got off easy considering what I wanted to do to her.

Cole-slaw.

We kind of want to squeeze him to pieces...and maybe nibble on him a bit too. Check out all his sweetness here.

i am pathetic.

On each occasion in these photos I handed Ryan the camera and said "here, take a picture, I don't have any of just myself with these two." Oh, and if you knew these two, you would understand why. They are, hands down, the sweetest little babies of all time. Maybe it's just the second child thing...but they are an absolute spoonful of sugar.

*maybe my mom is right (for once), you really should throw the first one away...

a little futbol.

How much are you dying at the "Where's Waldo" picture of Sarah...

MLS cup '09...sorry Beckham, you lost, but still looked mighty fine.

baba & his gals.

I don't think he could fit anymore love in those arms. They sure think he's the cats meow...and I'm thinking he's pretty smitten too.

hadley got her groove on.

This week, 'the worm'. Next week, the 'running man'. Look out class of 2025, this gal is gonna rock the prom (and possibly spike the punch too).

a little bit of san diego.

we went. we saw. we ran. we drank. we had a two year old wake us up at 3am...more than once. we laughed. we cried. we were hungover (not me...but the other losers). we skinny-dipped in the ocean. we relaxed in the hot tub. we pretended like we were locals, noone bit. we shopped. we danced. we put our bare feet in the sand! we visited a much missed, much beloved grandma. we hung out with some of our most favorite california families. we relaxed. we missed home. we colored. we read books. we did human pyramids. we put on sunscreen. we saw sun. we bought skinny jeans (and now I'm obsessed). we conquered.

It's a no brainer...

...what we are thankful for.

Of course, the answer was just as simple when the same question was posed to her:

Me: "Hadley what are you thankful for today?"

Hads: Blank stare.

Me: "Are you thankful for Mama & Dada?"

Hads: "Ummm, no...just Dada."

Oh snap.

baby mama.

Hadley Jane is absolutely obsessed with any and all things baby. All day long we change baby's, feed baby's, burp baby's, walk baby's, give baby's time-outs, hush baby's, swaddle baby's, take baby's to Nordstroms...it's like being a real live Mama...except without the frayed nerves and flabby stomach. And Hads doesn't get a night-cap after she puts her little ones to bed.
