The week leading up to Spring Break I asked Hads what she wanted to do...
she had quite a few ideas.
To say the least.
The zoo, a movie, the Children's Museum, Jump Planet, a picnic, watching cartoons, going out to breakfast, and lunch, and dinner, eating tater tots with every meal...the suggestions were endless.
She pretty much wanted to do anything that did not involve running errands and everything that did involve spending money.
Gal after my own heart.
So we plotted them on the calendar, and she was giddy with anticipation awaiting the upcoming week.
Ryan was out of town all week so I pledged to her (since we weren't going anywhere), that this would be the BEST Spring Break EVER.
MONDAY.
Monday was so promising.
We did everything we planned.
I went for a run early so the kids could skip the gym, eat whatever they wanted for breakfast, and watch extra cartoons.
We took Frank for a walk (this NEVER happens, unless Ryan is involved).
Went to a movie.
And had tater tots for dinner.
Slam dunk.
Day 1 a success.
TUESDAY.
We went to swimming.
The kids did awesome.
I proposed to their teacher.
(I absolutely adore her...more on that later).
And then we headed to the zoo to meet Auntie Val and the kids.
But in route, Pukey McPukerson, the King of Bulemia, Wreck-it Ralph...well...he ralphed.
All over himself and the back seat and, thus thwarted our zoo plans.
We turned the car around, both kids were in tears, and cried the entire way home.
Then we went to gymnastics, after much needed naps.
Day 2 was a bust.
WEDNESDAY.
I went to work.
(and did a little jig).
And Hads had a sleepover with Lo.
THURSDAY.
Swimming again.
And a lunch date with four adults and seven childreen.
Terrible ratio.
FRIDAY.
Work.
Again.
Saturday, I told Hads I was sorry her Spring Break was so lame.
She said, "Next year lets go to Hawaii...and bring Lauren...and leave Carson."
I like the way you think kid.
