About three months ago Hadley was watching 'Olivia' and Olivia wanted to be called Pam.
Hadley declared she wanted to be called Pam too.
So for the next two hours, I called her Pam.
And we both giggled. And that was that.
Fast forward to present day.
Hadley has been going to her preschool a few random days for 'summer camp'.
So she's had the same teachers, but different kids are in her class.
She has been in the 3-4 year old classes (since it works better for me), so she gets to be the big kid in the group. I am pointing this out only to say, none of the kids know her. Which makes the story work.
I picked her up a few Thursdays ago and her teachers laughed and said
"Good Bye Pam."
I rolled my eyes and said "Did she tell you her name was Pam?"
And the teacher responds "Oh No, its way better than that. Let me tell you the whole story. One of the kids was lined up at the door and had her jacket on and zipped up, I asked her, 'who put your jacket on for you Taylor?' and she replied 'Pam did it.'
Then we were putting our paint supplies away, and someone had put all the brushes in the sink. I asked Jacob, 'did you put the brushes in the sink?', and he replied, 'no Pam did it.' And I am thinking to myself, who is Pam?
Then Audrey, who just turned 3 had her lunch all set out, her straw in her drink, her granola bar unwrapped, and I was quite impressed. I told her 'good job Audrey', and she said, 'Pam did it.' So I finally shouted...
'Who is Pam?!?!?'
And Hadley yelled from the back of the class,
'That'd be me.'
I don't know what makes me happier...the fact that she went up to all these kiddos and introduced herself as Pam, or the fact that Pam is, hands down, the most helpful preschooler on the planet.
I like this Pam chick.
