the depths.

He'll do anything to make her happy.

the gift of gab.

This girl always wants to yak on the phone. You have no idea how many times a day we 'call' Daddy at work, Zaide, Nana, Auntie Val, Auntie Lis, and China. Crossing my fingers she doesn't succumb to phone-phobia like me...so far, so good. We'll just see if she can order a pizza in 10 years.

cereal queen.

This gal is so much like her mama. She could eat cereal breakfast, lunch, and dinner...and sometimes does. And I don't skimp, she doesn't have to eat that Kashi dogfood cereal like most kids (sorry Lis), we are all about Lucky Charms, Frosted Flakes, and Cinnamon Life...and ALWAYS namebrand, that knock-off crap in the bags, just shameful. However, there's still a lot of my mama in me because I never pay more than $3 for a box. Oh, and the drinking from the bowl...that's her dad. I'm too much of a lady to stoop that low.

a lesson in patience.

How do you torture a two year old? Set up cupcakes for her Daddy's birthday while he is out on a LONG run and remind her that she has to wait to eat them until Daddy gets home.

a thank you.

Just wanted to send a simple thank you to all of our amazing friends and family that have helped lift us at a time when our legs and our spirits just couldn't find the strength. Thank you for your phone calls, your emails, your gifts, home cooked meals, flowers, and most importantly your unwavering love and support. It's all of you that make us believe it's possible to continue pushing this big rock called 'moving on' up this big hill called 'life' through a shitty storm called 'grief'. Thanks to all of you for being our shoulders to cry on, the ears to listen, and the arms to hold us. Even at a time when we were sure we were all out of smiles, you guys have helped us find some. So thank you...

go legs go.

I feel like I could run to China anytime my iPod plays this song, this angry little ditty, one of my favorites from this little hermaphrodite, this clap happy tune, and last but not least, my newest (old song) obsession. Then I remember my little chatty cathy, Ru-Ru the wonder dog, and the parasite taking over the lower quadrant of my abdomen probably wouldn't be able to be to make it all the way to Asia...so we settle for a run to Safeway and back instead. Enjoy the tunes.
