cannon beach, OR, RN, BSN, CCRN.

These gals.
They are something pretty darn special.
We spent 4 days together in a fabulous house in Oregon (six kids, five adults, three bedrooms...you do the math).
And it was magical.
Once you got over the noise, the whining, the 6am wake up calls, the 4.5hour drive, the rain, the tantrums, the constant neediness, the exhaustion, and the constipation.
Seriously though, we had a blast.
And after we drove the 4.5 hours back home, after having spent 96 straight hours together, we were all texting eachother 'what are you doing?  I'm bored.  I miss you.'  And then we all worked the next three days together (so add on another 36 hours).
Needless to say...we like eachother.  A lot.
There aren't many people that let you treat their kids like your own
(meaning you are can yell at them, be annoyed with them, feed them whatever they want, without asking, snuggle up with them, and adore them...all at the same time).
There aren't many people you can share a living space with...and a bed.
There aren't many people that are just as fun to talk to, whether you're sitting around drinking coffee or sitting around drinking beers.
There aren't many people that you feel completely comfortable having a freshly washed face and/or not wearing mascara in front of.
There aren't many people that you can quietly watch "Flipping Out",
"What Not To Wear", or "The Real Housewives" of anything with while cuddling, under a smelly blanket, on the couch.
See what I mean?
They are better than girlfriends.
They are my 'Gallup:  Best Friends at Work', without a doubt.
Girls, I would crack a beer or a chest with you any day of the week.
Cheers!
Hadley LOVES Niamh.  There was never more than a one inch gap between (because of Hadley).  She definitely throws her nose in the air to personal space, boundaries, and the act of being super, duper annoying.  Poor Niamh.  But no worries she duped Hadley in the end.  The old buttered toast trick.

if it ain't broken.

The perfect kid spot for the 30 seconds it takes to apply my mascara.
Then & now.
Sad that my look hasn't changed in four years.
So very sad.

on the move.

I find him like this ALL the time lately.
And I promptly kick him over.
Sorry pal.
We're not ready for you to be moving yet.
We'd like it if you'd follow in your sisters 'footsteps' (literally), which buys us at least another 9 months of immobility.
Consider yourself warned.
I'm not covering any outlets.
Jokes on you.

Dear Hads,
I can't wait till you have girlfriends to bring around here.
You are so cool.

hey. remember us?

Summer is in full effect, and I wish I could say this blog has been neglected due to ALL the amazing, fun, spectacular things we've been up to...but I can't.
Because that would just be a lie.
We got season 3 of Breaking Bad.
And we're glued to the TV during my allotted blogging time.
(you know the time...kids asleep, two cocktails deep).
Sorry, some things are just more important.
(than blogging, not drinking.  Just so we are straight).
Here are a few bits & pieces of what's been going on 'round here, when we are not busy watching a cancer surviving ex high school science teacher cook methamphetamine...
He's started seeing the world from a whole new perspective.
She stopped riding this.
And started riding this.
(with EXTREME caution).
We went to a St. Michelle Winery concert for the first time.
And realized what a buzz kill it is to fork over $60 bucks to a babysitter.
(although worth EVERY stinkin' penny).
They learned the fun of a sibling tubby.
He went to the zoo for the first time.
She turned 32.
And I have never loved her more.
Especially after a few of these.
(It's called a 'flabongo').
Which made us spend the rest of the evening looking like this.
He decided he loves meal time like nobodies business.
And she still loves her cousin like nobodies business.
I went for a little jog.
She is still all about her babies.  All the time.
But loves playing with her 'real life' one the most.
She has, without a doubt, OD'd on Otter Pops.
He has gotten two little toothies.
Which causes him to look like this a lot.
Or like this.
But most the time, he's still looking like this.

And we're back little bloggity...phew.
(until Season 4 of Breaking Bad comes out).
